JOIN ME TO SHARE IDEAS ABOUT INFLUENCING BEHAVIOUR

Randy Pausch was dying of pancreatic cancer and taught the world how to live. Watch this shortened version - again and again.

Are those new years resolutions still alive? Try these tricks to revive…

1. Focus on what you will do instead of what you are trying to resist. Example. "I will take a brisk walk on my break." instead of "I will NOT smoke." Fill your day with positives. Instead of, "I will not be short tempered." try "I will live in the moment and practise patience."
2. Plan. Temptations to deviate from your goal are everywhere. Anticipate and plan ahead how you will handle them. Example. "When Joyce brings baking to the office, I will walk away and reach for my apple in my desk…

"In the 1970s, Diana Nyad set long-distance swim records that are still unbroken. Thirty years later, at 60, she attempted her longest swim yet, from Cuba to Florida. In this funny, powerful talk at TEDMED, she talks about how to prepare mentally to achieve an extreme dream, and asks: What will YOU do with your wild, precious life?"

Do you ever wake up on Sat morning and tell yourself that you will exercise today?
And then at 6pm when it's time to get ready to go out for dinner, you kick yourself because there is no time left to exercise? (or is it just me?!)
Many of us just recently set some New Year's Resolutions. How are they going? Statistics say that at least 25% of us let go of our new year's resolutions after just 1 week. Well, good for you for the intention! And now to make the intention stick…here are 3 tricks.

  1. Set a time. In one study, a group of students was asked to write a report over the holidays describing what they did on Christmas Eve. Half the group was asked to specify exactly when and where they'd do their writing; the other half weren't gven any specifc instructions. Only 1/3 of the later group completed the assigned task. More than 3/4 of those who defined exactly when and where they'd write the report completed it. In another study, chronic procrastinators who set a specific time to…

In PERSUASION Rx: How to Influence Ethically, we talk about how it is only when we "partner" with the hcp and focus on the one thing we share in common - better patient outcomes - that we will regain our influence.

It is the absence rather than the presence of a sales pitch that is turning things around! How can…
